Tri-Cities Gay Affirming Churches

First Presbyterian Church

 LGBTQ Affirming

119 West F St. Elizabethton, TN 37643

With  joyful hearts and open minds, we welcome all persons as diverse,  unique, and individual expressions of the image of God as we:

Affirm the unconditional love of God for all people as expressed in the life of Jesus Christ.

Celebrate God’s grace and creative work through ritual, sacrament, music, art, movement, and play.

Honor our Christian heritage while we explore the knowledge and wisdom of  multiple religions, science, philosophy, humanities and psychology to  deepen and enrich our spiritual journeys.

Nurture one another through fellowship and compassion in a community that seeks to offer wholeness.

Embody  our faith through local ministries and in actions that promote  environmental sustainability, peace, and justice for all people and  Earth.

In  awe and gratitude for the Divine Mystery that dwells within each of us  and pervades our Universe, we seek to create a Christian community that  honors our past, is vitally connected to our present, and looks with  hope and vision to the generations after us.

Landmark Free Holiness Church

1306 Orleans Street Johnson City, TN 37601

Landmark is an independent Free Pentecostal Holiness Church  dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel Message and the Love of GOD to the  Tri-Cities area. Established in January 2015, Landmark is firmly  grounded on three elements; FAITH, FAMILY, and FELLOWSHIP.

As  the Scriptures declare, faith is the substance of things hoped for and  the evidence of things not seen. At Landmark we take faith seriously. It  is the foundation on which the church of the Living GOD was built. We  know without faith it is impossible to please the LORD. Every song,  message preached, program, and every event is centered around faith.

Our  next focus at Landmark is family. We strive to be a family relevant  church in a world where the family is being overlooked. No matter your  family dynamics, you will find a place a Landmark. Not only do we  celebrate the family, but we encourage family involvement in all of our  ministries. We offer ministry opportunities for every member of your  family; whether men, women, young adults, youth, or children.

Lastly,  Landmark believes that without active fellowship with one another,  faith and family will fall short. The Bible tells us to not forsake the  assembling of ourselves together. We rely on the fellowship of our  families to help build us in our faith. We offer fellowship  opportunities almost every weekend outside of our normal worship and  Bible study services.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church

161 East Ravine Rd Kingsport, TN 37660

St. Paul’s is a member of the Episcopal Church, also known as the Protestant Episcopal in the United States of America (ECUSA):

The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion:

As Anglicans, we say that “Who we are is how we pray.” In other words, if you want to know what we believe, come worship with us. And we’d always love to have you join us for worship. (See service schedule on our home page.)

One of the things that happens in our worship is that we say one of two creeds, or statements of belief, together during our service. One is the Nicene Creed, and the other is the Apostles’ Creed.

In a regular Sunday morning service, you will hear or participate in reading (or singing) four (4) lessons of scripture from the Bible, usually two from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament. A sermon is preached that is usually based on one or more of those scripture lessons.

Our worship follows the services in the Book of Common Prayer

If you are curious to learn more about us, please do come join us for worship sometime. We’d love to share who we are with you as we pray together.

When we say all are welcome, it’s because we want you to know that this is a place where we hope you can come and find open-hearted people and a place to belong. We are the Presbyterian Church (USA) campus ministry at ETSU and our denomination has a tradition of being welcoming and progress-oriented.

At UKirk, we invite you to bring your full self to the table, just as God created you.  We want to share our space with you. We want to be worthy of the beautiful diversity you represent. We want to celebrate the fact that you reveal to us aspects of God that we could not know on our own.

So come and meet us! Make a connection. Feel included. Experience of the love of God.

We meet Mondays at 6 to share a meal together, then our programming begins at 7. We do a variety of activities- game nights, speakers from different backgrounds, conversations about issues we’re experiencing, and service activities. And we want you to voice your opinion about what you want to learn and share with us!

Mission: To create a welcoming community for students to experience authentic connection to one another, the wider Church, and to God.

Vision: To move the campus of ETSU towards a vision of the Kingdom of Heaven that welcomes and supports all people.

In Fall 2019, we will continue our Open Space support group for LGBTQ+ religious or spiritual students. The day and time for this is Friday at 1. Participants decide the activities and topics for conversation.

This year we hope to participate in tons of fun activities on campus as well as host some of our own events!

Our building at 1412 College Heights Rd. has a pool table, volleyball net, corn hole, wifi, and space to study and relax. Come by on a Monday night to find out how to access it.
